Meet The Your Family Historian Team
Your Family Historian was born amidst the chaos and uncertainty of COVID19 and the global pandemic.
Andy's background was as a Chartered Engineer but he had also spent more than 30 years pursuing his passion - genealogy. When his workplace closed due to COVID he decided the time was right to achieve his lifelong ambition and switch full time to genealogy. Together with Deb, who has a Masters in Business Administration, they set the business up and the rest is history.
The company has gone from strength to strength with an ever growing list of satisfied clients in both the UK and overseas and a waiting list for their detailed Family History Research Packages.
Andy Robson BEng (Hons)
Andy is an Associate of AGRA (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives), the professional body for genealogy in England and Wales and follows their professional Code of Practice and Ethics.

As well as a wealth of genealogical knowledge Andy has worked as a Presenter and Trainer for many years and is also a published Author and an expert in Military History.

He is a member of the Newcastle & Durham Family History Society and a member of the Society of Antiquaries, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
​
Andy says "I honestly love my job and the sense of satisfaction from helping clients discover their roots is like no other".
BA (Hons), MBA, MBCS Deb Ismay
Deb has worked as a Manager, Trainer, Leader and Senior IT Professional for over 30 years. She co-founded Your Family Historian with Andy and looks after strategy, marketing and sales, among other things, leaving Andy free to deal with the 'interesting and clever' stuff.

Deb says "My favourite part of the job is seeing how much our Family History Reports mean to our clients. They can get quite emotional! I also love it when someone finds out that a 'brick wall' that's plagued them for years is solved".
Rebecca Collacott BA (Hons)
Rebecca graduated from Coventry University with a First Class Media Production degree. She designed and created the branding and website for Your Family Historian .
As well as handling the business's presence on social media. Rebecca runs her own design business, 'Designs Are In The Making', which create and design websites, business material and social media for a variety of businesses and people on commission. In addition to designing home art and gifts Rebecca also designs bespoke Family Tree Wall Charts. Her Etsy store can be viewed here
